Experience

Ms. Swett was born in Hartford, Connecticut and moved to Boston where she pursued her career as a Harpist. She left that area for Vero Beach, Florida in 1990 and while there she performed in many solo, ensemble and symphony concerts as well as extensive freelance engagements. Her experience there includes a performance with the orchestra for the Steve Lawrence and Edie Gorme concert held at the Brevard King Center for Performing Arts in Melbourne, Florida. She also entertained the Russian Symphony Orchestra at the Kravis Center for Performing Arts in Palm Beach, Florida. Ms. Swett was featured at the exclusive Admiral's Cove Resort in Jupiter, Florida from 1992-1996 for all holiday dinners. In addition, she performed at a charity benefit with actress/model Lauren Hutton at the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

In 1995, Ms. Swett relocated to Miami Lakes, Florida where she continued to perform concerts and other freelance engagements including several solo programs for Citibank. She also performed for a private engagement for Senator and Mrs. Robert Graham.

In 1999, Ms. Swett relocated to Weston, Connecticut where she continued to perform. She performed several times for the Westport Playhouse Board of Directors attended by JoAnn Woodward and Marlo Thomas, as well as concerts and freelance engagements.

Rebecca began studying the harp at the age of ten. She performed in a recital hall at Carnegie Hall, attended Interlochen International Music Camp, and played with the New England Music Festival Orchestra, the Connecticut All State Orchestra and toured Switzerland with the Greater Hartford Youth Orchestra. She also received a third place award in the 1970 Irish Festival Harp Competition in New York. Rebecca continued her studies at Boston University School of Music with Lucille Lawrence.

Ms. Swett moved to Littleton, Massachusetts in 2003 where she continued a very active harp career. For over three years Rebecca performed every Sunday Brunch at the Colonial Inn in Concord, Massachusetts and subbed for The Ritz Carlton Tea. She was performing on a regular basis for over 10 years for Donelan's upscale markets in Acton, Lincoln, Wayland and Littleton. She performed many concerts in the area including Tower Hill Botanical Gardens, Libraries and other venues. She also performed for many years several times a month at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts in the radiation and oncology unit as well as Lowell General Hospital.

Rebecca moved to Fairfield, Connecticut in 2017 where her husband Reverend Vern Swett accepted a position at First Church Congregational. Some of her performances include the Gaelic Club of Fairfield, Mitchells Clothing in Westport, Tauck Travel, Pequot Library Art Show and many concerts and performances.

Rebecca specializes in all types of freelance engagements, weddings, concerts and programs at senior communities. She has released 7 CDs which include Classical, Popular, Christmas, Celtic and Relaxing musical selections.

Rebecca relocated to Toledo, Ohio in August 2020 with her husband who took the position as Senior Minister of the Sylvania United Church of Christ.
